I am 44(45 shortly) and have started having more problems with the weight I carry. I have been fairly healthy, with just some hypertension(controlled). Recently I have been having back and knee problems that have been directly attibuted to my weight by my physician. It's time to get serious. I have been forced to sit out several activities that I knew I would not be able to do, and I don't like it. I have struggled with my weight since graduating from high school. Small gradual increases have lead to a place I never thought I'd be.

What time of day do you exercise?
I'm looking for some advice. Is it better to exercise in the morning or evening.( I work) And if in the morning, do you eat something first. I had a bad experience once when trying to exercise in the morning.(almost passed out) I would prefer the morning, but don't want to risk another bad experience.
I'd appreciate any advice.

Birthday coming up!
And we have a "birthday club" at work. The birthday person gets to choose what they want for lunch and what kind of dessert they want. Lunch will be no problem as there is a great grilled chicken salad I love from a local restaurant, so I will choose that. Dessert is my issue. So I'm looking for some lo-cal alternatives to a regular birthday cake. I'm leaning towards angelfood cake with sliced strawberries and some fat-free whipped topping, but since that is "boring" I'd love some other suggestions. Especially any thing that includes lemon as it's my favorite flavor. Thanks!

suggestions for lunch, besides salad?
I like soup, either homemade or lite canned, so as not to have too much sodium. Add a half a turkey or lite lunch meat sandwich and a piece of fruit.

What's Your Motivation...?
I just want to be healthy. I want to be off blood pressure medication. I want to be able to walk a decent distance with out getting out of breath. I want my joints to stop hurting. I don't want to get diabetes.

Jeans, with no elastic, in a normal size. Come to think of it, normal sizes period!
