After gaining 100+ pounds over the last ten years, I finally decided that it was time to make some changes. In the beginning, it was hard for me to see myself as I was. I was a size 6-8 but I weighed 175 pounds! For most people this would be impossible and because of the BMI and obesity standards I always believed I was fat. Looking back at old photos I came to realize just how ridiculous this was. How could I have considered myself fat and my body was perfectly toned right down to six-pack abs? As I gained weight over the first few years, it still did not occur to me that something needed to be done. I attributed my tight clothing and weight gain to drying the clothes too long or simply saying that the scale was not right. A few months ago I looked at some recent photos and saw just how out of control things had gotten. At that point I became committed to losing 80-100 pounds. I know it is going to be a long road, but I am determined to become a healthier person!
