I am a retired school teacher and a twin. Since menopause, I have put on 20 pounds. I weigh 162 at 5'7; however, I have a midriff I am fighting to get rid of. I go to the Y every morning and work out for 3-4 hours. I sometimes go back in the evenings for another hour. I work out for 30 minutes in their "curves" room, another 30 on the Spin bike, another 30 on the CFX. I then take 1 or two classes...back to back. The first year at the Y, I tore a rotator cuff and capsulated my shoulder. I also managed to get plantars fasciiatis from working out to much. I have NOT lost the weight I thought I would drop by so much working out. I basically eat a handful of Special K that has yogurt with lactose free milk, a oatmeal bar (100 cal) after the first 2 hours of working out at the Y, and Smart Meal Tuna and Noodles for lunch. I'll actually skip supper for my chocolate. I need to get off this horendous craving for chocolate I've had most of my adult life.
I'm married and have two grown sons. I teach piano in the evenings. I'm also a PFLAG mother.
