I'm tired and achy, looking forward to trying some sensible weight loss. I have always counted on exercise and staying fit, but that does not fit into the life after car accident/health probs that I have now. Have to resort to watching the calorie input and doing the kind of exercise that won't hurt me!
It seems that every time I get a routine going that I can manage pain-wise, I end up hurting myself and dropping back to *0*. I can't keep doing what is not working, have to face the fact that I won't be rollerblading, biking, working out on elliptical machines, or hiking.
Swimming is the best bet for me to get the heart pumping and minimize damage. I don't do the sun well as I have been having a problem with skin cancer and have had several MOHS procedures done...not fun, leaves scars, don't want more! Still have one to go on my eye and looks like a new one on my forehead. I need to get out with my kids to the pool in the evenings, no excuses. Its closed atm, maintenance, but that is unusual.
Of my three kids, my middle son has just been diagnosed with a progressive muscle disorder, he also has Asperger's Syndrome. For the muscular dystrophy, swimming is the therapy that will work best for him. If he over-does exercise he will have muscle breakdown, and if he underdoes it he will lose muscle fast too, so he has to find a middle ground.
Guess we will be working off of each other on this and my 2 other children will benefit right along with us :)
All together, I just want to get fit again, I miss it and need the benefits, especially for stress.
Want to say goodbye to bad habits and stay on track, need all the help I can get.
