It is funny how writing down what you eat makes you more aware of your choices. I am starting to think in terms of trade-offs. Today I chose to have a taco salad for lunch and forgo the tortillas because I wanted to have pasta for dinner. Before, I would have eaten the tortillas, and added sour cream, and probably guacamole without thinking about it. Then I would have had the pasta at dinner too!

I also think I will try to write down my meals in the morning, so that I have a better idea of what wiggle room I have as I make my choices. Right now I don't think I am eating enough. I am usually around 1200, but I should prolly be closer to 1500.

The biggest challenge is not going overboard. I want to get to where I can eat without having to think too much about every little thing. Baby steps! I will get there!

Life is getting really busy, really fast. It is good when I am busy because I don't think about dieting. The times when I have the most trouble are when I spend too much time thinking or planning about food and meals and stuff. The best times are when I am so busy that I am on the go. I have been working a lot and just making recipes out of this new magazine I found called "Clean Eating."

Last night I made a "clean" version of Chicago Style Deep Dish pizza that Clean Eating magazine calls "The Windy City Pie." Whole wheat crust, turkey sausage, tons of veggies, simple tomatoe sauce, and a small amount of mozarella cheese. It had 196 calories a slice and 7 grams of fat(I had one substantial slice and a small side salad and I was STUFFED). My Boyfriend, who is a picky eater, said, "Next time you make this make a DOUBLE batch!" I had my parents over and they loved it too. So, good to know that Clean food van be both healthy and delicious.

Okay, so now this sounds like an ad for Clean Eating Mag. LOL. I guess I should ask for royalites. But really, I am just excited about how good it was, and how little thought I had to put into it.

It has been about 10 days since I switched from Atkins to Calorie Count, and so far so good! I don't feel near the same kind of pressures about making sure that I don't eat ANY sugar. I am still maintaining a sugar free diet. But, I don't freak out if I accidentally eat something with sugar in it.

I am trying to do what is called "clean eating." This is when you eat only natural food, no processed or refined food of any kind. This is easy for me because it is mostly what I eat anyway. I haven't really eaten processed food, well, ever.

I am under 290 which is great and I am really hoping to get into the 270's by christmas!

I still need to add exercise. I have walked sporadically the past couple of weeks, but a daily habit has not been created yet! Oh, and I'd like to kick the diet soda habit (one I picked up on Atkins).
