17 July 2016

We're back at it again. We both lost a little weight within the last few months. There was a contest at my husband's work with a $300 prize. I was going along with him, though he exercised more than me.

He didn't win, but got $100 for second place. Then a month or so later gained most of it back. Now, we are trying to get down to our goal weight.

Day 1:

First weigh in with DH. We went to Walmart to get a new scale, as the old one is very inaccurate. We also picked up a jump rope and a case of bottled water, since I hate our tap. When we went to weigh in, we realized that our new scale was broken. So, day one of our contest was being difficult.
I drove the 15 miles back to Walmart and exchange the scale for a working one (tried and true). We got home, stripped and weighed in. He made fun of me for taking off my glasses.
His start - 261.4
Mine - 201.4
First to lose 60lbs wins the pot.
This week's $20 is in the collection box. Honestly, the money isn't motivating me, I just really want to beat him. :)

My weight is still fluctuating, which is frustrating to say the least. I'm trying my hardest to watch what I eat, but unfortunately, right now finances are tight, and we're having a hard time finding healthy cheap meals. I haven't been exercising for some reason, and it's driving me bonkers, but hopefully today I'll be able to squash that. I really just need to get into the habit of working out, and that's really my problem.
Stress levels are high, and I tend to stuff my mouth to compensate. Too make matters worse, the closer it gets to this wedding, the worse I feel about not losing weight. I have a month to feel comfortable in my own body, and I don't think I'm going to get there. It makes me want to cry. The husband - from now on shall go by Chuck - is no help. I mean, he's supportive (his idea of supportive is "quit bitching and just do it"), but he always just tells me that I don't need to lose weight and I look beautiful/sexy as it is.
Sometimes, I feel like he's lying, and just saying that to make me feel better. It's stupid, but there are just small things that make me feel like that.

Oh, well, the only way I can change how I feel is to change what I want to change. I'm never going to be satisfied until I make those changes. I need my own little bubble so I can just focus on that, without getting distracted by tv or internet.

Wouldn't it be neat if we could just freeze time of our own volition and just workout like a mofo? Go from 200lbs to 135 in a day! LOL

Woke up this morning at 5 to a storm, thought to myself, alright, I'll wait half an hour, maybe it'll calm down. 2.5 hours later I'm on my way to work, without being free of the rain. When I got home, I immediately changed and went on a walk, so I managed to at least get that in. But, I also did some sit-ups and a plank, albeit, both rather short due to me being in such poor shape.

Ate fairly well, today I suppose, but I'm worried about the next week, before I can get my first paycheck. I imagine I will be either scrounging unhealthily, or convince the hubby to splurge before we both get paid. I mean, we have plenty of food, it's just not that healthy.

Hopefully tomorrow it won't be raining in the morning so I go for my morning walk. Pulled out my yoga mat, too, so if anything, I can start that.

The husband and I made a bet to see who can use the most weight (percentage-wise) by my brother-in-laws wedding, which is in October. The last time we did this, things sorta fizzled. We're not quite sure what the winner will get. Personally, I think he'll give up, just due to his inability to commit to it. Either way, it's my intention to lose as much healthy weight by then as possible, anyway. Especially since I'm the wife of the best man.

Fudgin' pictures...

Started my new job today as a member service rep at a local health insurance company. I can see myself being very happy here. So far, mostly everyone has been really great about answering questions and explaining things. Having a job like this makes me feel like a real grown up, lol. I mean, at 26 I should really be settled in somewhere, but I've always just have gotten factory work or waitress and cashiering jobs. Not to say that those aren't perfected respectable jobs, despite the amount of people who disrespect the people working. I just am never happy in those positions, and I know I accomplish more. It's silly, I know, but I feel more responsible in this kind of position.

I also got up at 5 this morning and went for a 30 min walk. I intended for it to be an hour, but I got a late start, unfortunately. Tomorrow I will go out again, and over time, I'll extend the walking time/distance by going after work, as well. I need to build up energy before that though. I'm going to start beginner yoga, and one of my new co-workers was telling me about her roller derby team having tryouts soon. That peaked my interest.

I'm thinking that the few extra pounds is mostly water weight, but I'm have serious plans for healthy eating. After my first paycheck, the plan is to make a lot of crock pot recipes, since my husband and I now work the same hours. Or, at the very least, preparing meals beforehand, then just shoving them into the oven. I also am planning healthy snacks for work, to keep me from overeating as well as feeling that early afternoon lag. Cutting down on soda, though I did have one today, because I needed a kick, but I have been drinking a lot of water today, so that's great!

I feel absolutely happy, now. I got my motivation thanks to this job. It gives me a real sense of accomplishment. Wish me luck!
