Day 19: Mojito Lime Chicken. Pan Roasted Balsamic Vinegar Brussel Sprouts with Bacon. Grilled Pepper Trio. My wife should open a restaurant, for real. I would have paid 18 bucks for this $5 meal. It was a fine supper.

I'm starting to look into the DASH Diet. It appears it could help considerably with my bit of hypertension and has been viewed as effective for weight loss, as well. I'll read up on it over the next couple of days and see if it makes sense for me. I'd love to lose that daily pill while I'm at this weight loss hobby.

I didn't do an "official" weigh-in this morning after my shower in terms of reporting it here, but I jumped on the scale in my usual weigh-in attire of just basketball shorts and was 311.1 on the scale. 23.9 pounds lost in 19-days. I'll probably do a reportable weigh-in again on Monday or Tuesday of next week and see if it holds or if it was just an anomaly.

I also changed my goal weight to 260. Funny thing is the BMI on almost every website I have been to says I need to be at 224 lbs. in order to not be considered 'obese' at 6'7". I tell you, I would look like a sickly man, literal skin and bones. I haven't seen that weight since I was a scrawny senior in high school. When I was in the very best shape of my life as a NCAA Division 1 basketball player starting on one of the top teams in the nation I weighed 255 lbs. Not a pinch of fat on my body, I tell you. So that 260 figure might be a stretch, but I need a lofty goal. I'll celebrate when I hit 299, 290, and 280 and see how things progress.

My back is not 100% but I felt much better today. I tried a product recommended by a friend called "Biofreeze." It really helped with the muscle soreness. I grabbed my Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones (amazing sound!) and hopped on my bike and pedaled 6 total miles. My back feels a little sore, but it was so refreshing to be on my bike again after 6 days of this back keeping me off. I am going to see how I feel in the morning and maybe push a 12-miler tomorrow afternoon.

Onward.

A little something my wife surprised me with. Cooked cabbage, kielbasa sausage, diced tomatoes with a few spices, and a little sriracha. It was scrumptious.

My back is feeling a good bit better. Hopefully another day or two and I'll be right. I miss riding the bike, but am still holding out a sliver of hope to do some miles on the Waccamaw Neck Bikeway in Murrells Inlet down to the beach on Thursday.I have been pretty sidelined at work the last few days but look forward to getting up and around a bit more.

35 carbs and 1280 calories today. Not terribly bad. I am amazed at how many sites recommend 150-200 carbs a day for weight loss. Some even higher for my height and weight, specifically. I wonder if I am cheating (or even hurting?) myself by looking to be so low. A lot of sites say to divide your calories by 4 and stick with that number for moderate weight loss. Odd, as I have been doing far lower in carbs most days than that number, like today. The 1280 calories suggest I could have had 300+ carbs based on a ton of sites recommending I have 1800-2200 calories for moderate weight loss. Doesn't sound right.

Color me confused.
