just about 5 lbs from my goal
I have been on all sorts of diets over my lifetime! HCG, Cabbage Soup Diet, Scarsdale, Atkins, Slim-fast, Intermittent, keto and the whole gamut! I am not a naturally Skinny Person nor can I get away with a high carb approach. I have been struggling my whole life to control my weight. Some of the times of excessive gain (highest was about 182 ) was associated with a interruption in physical activity from injury. I have had a few with 6 car accidents and numerous falls off of horses. Also there were interruptions from surgeries and I have had a few of those. This year the covid shutdown gave me a double whammy with not going to work for 7 weeks; my job is pretty a active on your feet all day kinda thing. I was doing lots of exercise during that time but not enough to offset all the baking and cooking I was doing (memorable highlights were Ricotta/Spinach dumplings, pancakes for Brekkie, Muffins everywhere, and Plum Kuchen). Let's not forget the frequent cocktails too! Bloodies, Margaritas, Bourbon and ginger beer, those don't help! By the time I went back to work, I had put on almost 20#s.

As of today's weigh in I have finally dropped the Covid 19! Woot Woot! And after all the crazy diets I have done I realized with the help of FATSECRET.com that good old calorie counting works as well as any of these convoluted restricted plans to loose weight. I must say though if you are in a big hurry to loose 25# and you have the money to spend HCG done with a qualified nurse practitioner, nutritionist, naturopath or doc is worth it, but keeping it off is still a struggle. I have eaten pretty much what I want and the only things I have restricted is the Cocktails, booze in general and the stupid sweets like candy or cakes. I might have a cocktail 1x a week or so and I still have 1-2 small squares of dark chocolate a few times a week. I have also been working out about 4-5 days a week, 2 days with a trainer, riding my horse, long walks and at-home calisthenics. Once a week I work for a professional horse trainer doing barn chores, which really means I am hauling wheel barrels of muck for some days 3 hours, which according to FATSECRET burns about 1100 calories!

My trainer says that the more muscle you put on the more efficient you become at burning calories especially simple carbs...but the alcohol never helps in any event it seems and I was never a "heavy drinker" but one cocktail is just an incentive for another for me so I just avoid...some days it is hard to do but I find green tea with a little agave helps.

Happy Dia de los Muertos my friends...I am off to scoop the poop and burn some fat!!!
