I am the mother of 3 wonderful children. Two sons biologically and a daughter that is technically my husband's but that is ONLY a technicallity! She is my 17 yr old baby girl! I love my children more than anything.

I bought some clothes one day not too long ago, and went to put a new shirt on for only the 3rd time and it was a bit snug. Then I noticed the other new clothes were getting too tight.

I love my children so much, so I got to thinking about it. How much do I really love them if I can't get some of this weight off and be healthy for them? My size limits what I can participate in with them. I can't enjoy things that involve too much walking, I live near six flags, but can't fit in most all the rides so I can't go, I have to eat at places that the table moves so I can fit. These are only a few examples of the problems I have from allowing myself to gain weight to this degree.

My children are great and never make me feel self concious about myself, but it has became second nature to them to accomidate "Mom's size".

My husband has gone out of town to work for an extended period of time, but even 7 hours away, he lets me know I am beautiful to him and I am the love of his life. We see each other often, but with that comes eating out a lot which is not healthy with the choices I make.

I live with my mother, who has a weight problem herself, and we are both great southern cooks. We love to cook and we eat what we cook. Taste tests are regular while we are cooking. There is no telling how many calories we get before a meal even starts just by "testing" our food for just the right blend of seasonings.

My mother and I have began this weight loss journey together. She is doing far better than I am on it, but the important issue is we are both doing something about it. I hope we have the strength and will power to continue the journey.

Blessings to all!!!
