I was diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension and right side heart failure a year ago and my doctor started me on water pills to help with fluid retention. It wasn't helping so they switched my water pills and in the past week, I have lost 13 pounds of fluid I didn't even know I was retaining. I can finally breathe enough to do some light exercise and yard work again! Hopefully the new meds coupled with a healthy, low sodium diet will keepe on the road to better health! ❤️

Had another crazy weekend that made it tough to stay on track, but managed to burn some calories cleaning the entire basement and first floor of the house yesterday as well as prepping some garden goodies for this summer. I also did some meal prepping to get dinner on the table quickly instead of depending on garbage food because I'm exhausted from work.
I also have about 3.5 weeks until I have my first BPA procedure that will move some of the scar tissue in my lungs to start easing my CTEPH/heart failure symptoms so I can start exercising again. If it works, I swear I will NEVER complain about being able to get up and use my muscles and lungs without gasping for air.
Until then, I'm going to keep pushing forward and trying to keep myself motivated even when I go backward.

I had a pretty rough weekend, emotionally, and it shows in my weight this week. I didn't take care of myself and let things that I couldn't control affect the things I should have been doing to care for myself. I'm feeling better, took some time for a mental reset and back to practicing self-care to get back on track. Usually a 1 lb weight gain would discourage me, but I am committed to making small changes daily in order to reach my long term goals for a healthier overall lifestyle, physically as well as mentally. So I have forgiven myself for slipping up and I will continue down the path that will lead me to the future I envision. My health is in my hands. <3
