Goal Weight
130.0 lb
Still to go: 5.8 lb
I am 42yrs old in Connecticut. My average weight (well desirable weight) is always about 130lb. I have always had to watch my weight because when I don't it just creeps up there. After 3 kids, ages 7,5, and 2 I refused to get on the scale. I would not even go to the dr.'s in fear that I would really find out the truth. Well, I finally did and the md recommended the sbd because my a1c level (glucose) was elevated along with my weight. So,here I am trying to lower my weight in hopes that my sugar level will drop as well.

After several years, I'm back on the south beach. When I was 2lbs away from my goal , I unexpectley became pregnan with baby #4. Well she will turn 3 in September. Back in February I realized it was time to get back on S/B. Again i hadn't been to the dr. I have even refused to jump on the scale. It obvious I have dropped some pounds, but I still don't feel where I should be or maybe where I would like to be. I'm glad to be back on S/B. I believe this will be a way of life for me.

weight gain
Today I stepped on the scale, the first time since Easter. I did cheat with some pie on Easter, but it was the first time I have cheated and thought I deserved it. For the rest I really did not goo over board. But, when I got on the scale it said I gained 4lbs. Could this be possible in just five days? My scale is fairly new, but is it possible it could be that off? Could I be retaining fluid? At the most I had expected to stay the same, not gain. Any suggestions? HELP. Crying or Very sad I not going to record this weight till I am sure I really gained.

Blood Sugar Advise Needed
Have you had an ac1 or a1c (not sure which) level. This measures your glucose level for an average of the last 3 months. Mine was slightly elevated that is why I am doing the sbd. Hopefully after 3 months my levels are more in range, between losing weight and cutting the csarbs. I beleive a fasting blood sugar is normal if under 100, so you are close, but like me maybe it will go down with the sbd. Please let me know how you are doing, since I am probably in the same boat as you. Good luck............

Oatmeal?
I know the sbd tells you not to use instant oats, but can you use the microwave method for regular oatmeal. I think I read somewhere to slow cook the oats, but the micro is easier a work.
Thanks..Dawn

Not sure if I am following correctly
Started the diet about 4 weeks ago. I have remained on phase 1 for these 4 wks. I do not eat anything I should not, but I do not always eat everything I should. I only lost about 5lbs the first 2 weeks. If I do not eat everything I should for each meal, could that be slowing down the weight loss? For example at breakfast do usually do not eat veggies, just maybe eggs or egg beaters w/ low fat cheese or c-bacon. Any one have any input?
