I'm very glad to have found fatsecret. I started this journey on May 20 when I weighed in at 233.7 lbs. I was so shocked to learn I'd gained 13+ lbs since the first of January. Way too much stress in my life. But since then I've been reading everything I can about losing weight and must say it is very confusing. I can't afford Weight Watchers anymore, so this is a perfect replacement for that. I'm going to develop my own eating plan focused on about 1400 calories a day until that is too many, then I'll lower it. This morning didn't go well. I have a teenager who is very challenging, and my breakfast choices reflect feeding her, and giving in to a food wish I'd been holding off for a week. My biggest desire, besides feeling better, is to learn better coping mechanisms. I've been reaction-eating since puberty, but it's time to figure out a better, healthier way. Today I weighed in at 229.5, which is a 4.2 lb drop in 5 days. I'll take it for now, but think I will focus on what I eat and how I move more than the lbs lost.
