Last night was interesting. I made boiled cookies to send my daughter in her college finals care package (along with lots of interesting health foods from Trader Joe's). I had three, and felt good about it. But I'd had a lot of tension earlier in the day and I felt myself heading toward a binge. It was 10:30, early for me to go to bed, but I reasoned with myself that I was indeed tired from all the emotion, and that I was wanting to go down to the kitchen for more cookies, but I DIDN'T DO IT! I went to bed instead, got a great night sleep, woke up refreshed and ready to go, and haven't even felt tempted to touch the cookies today. Wow, does fatigue really play that big a role in my eating?

losing 5.3 lb a week

I maintained from yesterday, which is think is really good because I lost 7.1 lbs in a week, and I don't want to go any faster than that. I know it won't stay off.
So, I've been walking a mile every day, and my legs are beginning to feel stronger. Clothes are a little less tight. Today I am experimenting by having a small breakfast and lunch so that I could have pizza with my daughter tonight. We'll see how it goes. I'm having a rough time finding how to communicate back to all of you. I'll figure it out though.

I really appreciate the support I'm given here, and once I figure out how to read all your journal entries, etc., I will do the same for you.
I seem to be losing rapidly, but I'm not concerned. I think my body was just ready to shed the junk I'd been putting into it, so now that I'm out on summer break, I have much more time to exercise, prepare meals, and relax, and my body is responding. I need to be better about tracking what I'm eating, but I have to say I think my life has really turned a corner over the last week, and everything feels different. Long story short, I've made the decision to relocate in the next 14 months, and for the first time in many, many years, I am happy. It's all coming together. Some thing to look forward to. Something to get into shape for.

losing 11.2 lb a week

I'm receiving such nice support from FatSecret members. I'm so glad I didn't spend the money joining WW. I had a good weigh in this morning, for a total of 5.5 lbs since I started 6 days ago. I know it's mostly water, but I feel better, cleaner, slimmer, so I'll take it. My difficulty now is night eating. I see on the recent activity posts that I am not alone. I think I've learned over the last couple of days to not let myself get too hungry, eat more during the day, and get out of the kitchen (next to the TV room) as soon as that last spoon is in the dishwasher. I also think I need to regular my sleep better. I'm on summer break this week, so I've been letting myself sleep whenever. Now, though, I think I need to change my internal clock and become a morning person. I start summer school next week, only teaching two classes, but it is enough to give me more stress. How in the world can we get rid of the stress in our lives? I did walk a mile this morning - it was great.
