I am a wife and mother to a wonderful husband and a beautiful 17 month old boy. I have struggled throughout my teens and twenties with weight gain/loss and pregnancy really pushed me over the edge with over 80 pounds gained.
Heart disease runs rampant in my family. Unfortunately, within a week of my wonderful wedding last March (2007), both my father and my grandmother passed away from massive heart attacks. Both had high cholesterol, blood pressure and Type II diabetes. I was borderline gestational diabetes during pregnancy and my son weighed over 9lbs at birth. While I'm not considered "pre-diabetic" YET, all of these factors are huge red flags for me and I am determined to change what I'm afraid may be an inevitable journey towards health issues. I want to be around for my son and husband as long as I possibly can and do so in a healthy and active way.
Plus, looking good always helps as well!
I'm hoping that all of this motivation will keep me on track. It's almost not a choice anymore, I HAVE TO DO THIS. Currently, I am on Weight Watchers and having success so far. I recently joined the gym and go at least 4 times a week, so hopefully that will help accelerate the loss.
I am currently doing the WW Plan online, which I love. I don't have time for work, meetings and the gym... I was hoping that joining this community will help me find weight loss "buddies" to help me with this journey!
