About me? Well I'm 29, female, from Cardiff.. very active person by nature.. not one to sit in front of the TV.. I'd rather be out and about.. It doesn't take money.. most of the things I go to are free.. its just a matter of finding them in your area..

I've been on a 'diet' for as long as I can remember.. as a child was always chubby and conscious of not being picked for sports..

Teen yrs were spent agonising about how 'fat' I looked in the mirror and when I see pictures now I would love to be like it.. was 12/14 and good with it..

Probably at my biggest age 21-24 where I went in excess of 18st but I never tried to care.. I was one of the bubbly ones.. always likeable at parties.. always making huge efforts for things.. would just have 'down-time' in private.. comfort eating city.. I'd try the Slimfast and Slimming World and Calorie Count and Atkins and the rest of them and nothing worked.. More like fads than anything else.. After a few weeks.. or a few days in some instances I'd get bored.. and of course the junk food would talk to me..

Around age 24/25 I had a funny relationship that put me through a hard emotional time.. I started to evaluate my life.. what I wanted.. where I was going.. and realised that one thing I'm in control of was my weight.. no one else to blame on what I was like.. just me.. and all I needed to do was to control myself.. and I knew I could do it.. so I did.. I stopped all the fads and started a diary.. set myself a few targets to get to.. and kept at it.. its a shame that the weight never comes off as easily at it goes on.. but then if anything worthwhile is always hard work.. but its possible..

At 27 I made it to around 11st 7 which is my 'Happy Weight'.. I've slipped up a bit recently to a 'comfy' 13st and I'm on my way back down.. If I can do it.. I'm confident that everyone can do it.. its just a matter of finding out what works for you and keeping that positive frame of mind..
