found myself down 4 pounds this morning, which is surprising because I have not changed too much about my lifestyle in the past week. I have biked much more than in the past, and I picked up extra shifts at work, so maybe that kept me out of trouble! I also have a really old scale, so maybe that it the culprit.
I only ate out one time this past week, and that was on Saturday afternoon where I had a sausage roll; I did go to the bagel place this week but I got whole wheat instead of plain...little changes, right?
I have also been reading about the Paleo diet, and am interested in the results people are getting. I'm not much for diets, though, so I think I might stick to my original goal of eating less junk/processed food and being more active.

I was not great about recording what I ate this week, but I know I wasn't great about my food choices. On Thursday I had a breakfast sandwich, pre-made noodles for lunch, chocolate ice cream, and beer. Not only did I eat a lot of unneccessary things because so much was processed, I did not get many nutrients.
I'm happy with the active choices that I made this week: barre and bike riding. Commuting by bike makes a big difference for me because it is exercise and travel - perfect! There is a sale on bike bags at REI and I'm going to splurge and get one. Carrying things in my bag on my back is an easy excuse against riding!
I know I have the time to exercise, and I enjoy cooking. I need to keep that in mind going forward. Like I said in my first entry, it is about lifestyle tweaks, not enormous changes. I'm not only in this to lose 15 pounds, I'm in it to stay healthy and have better habits.

I took out my box of summer clothes, and they do not fit. I'm ready to commit to the healthy lifestyle that I dabble in.
I am relatively active, but I can be more active. I would like to lose 15 pounds, and I think it can happen through lifestyle changes. I love to cook and eat healthy, but when I am alone, I love to indulge. I know that a sandwich is not a snack, but if I'm alone, I feel like it does not count. That is what needs to change.
I just joined a no sweets/no junk food challenge. A lot of my weakness is based around processed food, and I need to recognize that and learn how to have more willpower. I don't feel like I am "dieting" - I'm shifting my mindset about food and exercise.
