Began the HCG Protocol on Jan 29, 2011.

I am ready for a new lifestyle. I have always had an athletic/stocky build but was able to keep my weight between 125 and 135. About 2 yrs ago I jumped up to 150 within 3 months. I figured it was just a part of getting older and the metabolism slowing, but no… When I went for my yearly female checkup, my OBGYN was concerned with my rapid weight gain and thinning hair. After blood testing we found out that I suffer from a condition called PCOS (poly-cystic ovarian syndrome) coupled with Insulin Resistance. Finally the reason for my struggling weight which in retrospect, I realize was never an issue until after I hit puberty.


What is so aggravating is that I do eat right and exercise. I am a total foodie, love to cook, but do so in a healthy way. I always use fresh (frozen veggies, yuck!) and organic ingredients and stay away from complex carbs. I seriously can't remember the last time I had potatoes or pasta! If you look in my pantry or fridge right now, you would think that I have less than 5% body fat. I'm not a fast food junkie, but I do get my monthly Popeyes fix (C'mon, I live in New Orleans!)



Even more frustrating is that I am active. I walk for at least 3 miles 3-4 times per week. I do a spin class once a week, and ride my bike 3 days per week at least 15-20 miles per ride. But I am only maintaining my current weight. (go between 147 and 155, only saw 163 once, that's when I bought my road bike! I need this protocol to work. Given my current lifestyle, I am confidant that I will be able to maintain when I reach my goal weight.
