I'm a homeschooling mom of 7 kids ages 9-30 + 1 granddaughter. I have 5 kids at home and my husband and I run a contracting business together. Over the last 20 years of life and childbearing, I've steadily gained over 100 lbs. My youngest is 9 and it's time to lose it once and for all. In 2003 I lost 50 lbs by doing a healthy Atkins diet. However because of emotional issues I put it all back on, PLUS! I prefer to eat low carb. Last year, at age 48, I took up the sport of Roller Derby and found it very empowering and became more fit through the rigorous skating and core strength regime. However, it all ended in December of last year when I fell and suffered a severe concussion. All activity stopped as I was told to not do more that fold laundry or wash dishes. I was also put on 3-4 monthes of brain rest and have just now started to drive and walk for exercise again. A 15 min walk right now is all I can do. I also need more carbs in my diet for healing of my brain. As a result, I gained back all of the 15 lbs + I lost last year. I'm currently in an eating support group through my dr.'s office and am learning to change my eating behaviours. This tracker is a God send as I decided to limit my calories to a specific amount and track my eating. It really does help. I'll keep you posted but I've already lost over 2 lbs in the last few days!
