I felt the need to take my intermittent fasting to its next logical step and turn it into a water fast. I'm saying to have a digital reference if I am challenged in the future. I started my fast on August 1st at 9:00pm.
I hope to fast til my body says no more. And yes I will consult with a medical professional before my fast is over to guide me on my refeeding to make sure I come off my fast properly. But its just day 4 so I have time before I get that far.

I wanted to try to change IF protocols and go with an alternate dqy fast but its making me crazy for sweets. Will have to modify things again to get the weight loss machine going again. I brought a new scale and it works way better then the expensive one. I can now weigh myself with confidence. Oh and I'm going to record my waist size too. Have to look at other ways to track progress.

This was another good week as far as sticking to my IF protocol. And actually I'm glad I didn't lose too much weight this week. I want to get to the point of where I'm not hoping on the scale everyday to see where I'm at. I can judge how well I'm doing by just putting on my clothes. I can also judge on how I feel after walking a couple of flight of stairs in the NYC subway. On both of those accounts I'm getting better but I have a long way to go. I do want to clean up some elements in my diet and in order for that to happen I must prepare food at home more often. I might skip weighing in next week if I can clean up my diet and see any results differ that what I've been getting so far. It's been 4 good months so far and with 350lbs around the corner I must be ready for my 1st possible plateau.

Since May 30 when decided to try intermittent fasting I have lost 22 lbs. Well as most of know when you really really fat and you decide to take on any caloric reducing regime, you're going to lose a lot of weight. At least in the beginning. But I do believe that this way of "fasting" has helped me gain some control over food. This is important going forward cause what's the point of losing weight if I just gain it all back again. I'm hoping this will be a lifestyle change I can stay with. I will admit it gets hard getting to the 16th hour of a daily fast but I have to tell myself that showing some discipline will pay off.
The next big hurdle will 350. I say this cause at that weight the last time I tried to lose weight I hit a plateau that I couldn't get out of. Some folks can go weeks and months dealing with a plateau. But for most of us after a while we just lose interest and before you know it you start gaining the weight back. For me it was frustrating cause at 5'10" 350lbs you're just too damn fat to have a plateau lol. At least that's what I thought lol. I just have to hope that with intermittent fasting I can get past this.
