I am finally going down in weight again, so much so that I have had to lower my blood pressure medication (cut it in half) because I was getting a couple of really low readings that were leading to mild hypotension. So, I am closer to my ideal goal now. If I actually get down to 145 lb (at 5'7" height, 72 years old, and diabetic), who knows? Maybe I will eventually be able to get off my cholesterol and blood pressure medications altogether, AND PERHAPS EVEN EVENTUALLY diabetes medications like metformin and insulin. Could ultimate weight loss and body weight/Diet management be the ultimate cure for diabetes? Stay tuned, Diet and Diabetes begone fans! This diabetic is shooting for a longer life UNcomplicated by diabetes (My Dad died at 60 of an MI COMPLICATED by diabetes--and now I am 12.5 years beyond that-- "Is the the Promised End?"--said by King Lear at the end of Shakespeare's play by the same name).

I am finally getting close to my ideal weight goal. People are telling me that I am looking too thin, but I have never felt better in my life. I rarely get sick anymore. All I need to do is do a bit more exercise and convert some of my fat to muscle to get better toned. But keep in mind that I am 72 years old, and I will never be training for the Olympics!

I am stable and stagnant for now. But I am still going to try to get down to 145 lb because my last A1C was 8.5, and I have to do better than that as a 72-year-old diabetic. I am eating more oatmeal instead of eggs for breakfast, taking smaller meal portions. Now I have to add a lot more moderate exercise. With Spring coming, I will be out power walking in the mornings. And I plan to spend the next winter (3 months) in Florida where I will be working out every day. This will be a solid "forced retirement" vacation.

I am semi-stable at around 152-154 lb, but I still want to get down to 145 lb so that I can become the sexiest 71-year-old man alive because my new Nevertuck Van Heusen shirts will make me look stunning to all septagenarian women, as well as some who are under 70.

Today is June 28, 2017. 7.8 pounds away from the 145-lb goal. 2.8 pounds away from the modified 150-lb goal. I am 71 years old and can still walk fast without a cane. Life is good.
