losing 2.0 lb a week

Today will be easier to eat less calories since I'm doing a colonoscopy prep tonight. Tomorrow I should be extra lighter on the scale too ;) Annual colonoscopy reminds me of why I need to lose weight and eat healthier, not to look better (although I would like that) but to avoid cancer (Thank you, Lynch Syndrome). So far, I've been cancer free which I am beyond thankful for. I just can't take that for granted. Just sucks that getting a hysterectomy to prevent cancer has caused me to gain weight which is a risk factor for cancer. Need to focus on eating healthy and keeping my stress levels down (Easy to say, right?)

Felt like my eating was on target all last week, and I had a good (but not great) weekend of eating. We went out to eat with old friends and I chose the salmon spinach salad. The scale has not moved at all, which is a bit discouraging. A reminder that my body isn't going to lose as easily as it used to due to my lack of hormones. Means I have to step up my game. Had a disappointment today with not getting a job I applied for. I'm resolved not to eat to feel better. I just keep picturing myself in Costa Rica in a new bathing suit.

Felt pretty good about Valentine's Day. I did have some dark chocolate covered strawberries and two small pieces of Godiva chocolate. But other than that, I kept myself in control. I'm feeling more motivated lately, too. I was in such a slump after the election and through the inauguration. Everything felt so dark and discouraging (And NO I do not want to talk about politics). I feel like I'm getting back to my old self, despite the anxiety and tension all around (I live in a Blue state). It will help to take control over the things I actually have control over, like what goes in my mouth. I'm going to take this one day at a time, but also envisioning what it will feel like to fit into the summer clothes I bought in 2015.
