I think I'm finally ready to get this weight off. I've been on fatsecret for years, but started anew in January to record my food. I'm listed as doing my own thing. So far, it's working for me. I keep it high fat/moderate protein/low carb. I don't believe nor follow the recommendations by the medical establishment, even moreso as more news comes out about the grave, mistaken advice we've been given over the last 50 years or so.

Something has clicked. I hope it stays clicked. I'm not much on excuses at all. If you screw up (and we all do), figure out what caused the screw up and fix it! Having said that, I'm all for planned "excursions", so long as they're limited and of short duration. Free-for-alls can't be on the plan.

Update on 5/22: I'm doing well - down to 254.8 from about 295. Yeah me!

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I weigh every single day and record it on my blog - www.alongweighaway.com if you're interested.

It's helped me a lot to see that there is a lot of fluctuation - when you're good, when you're bad, when it's that TOM, if you have too much sodium, etc. But the trend is definitely consistently down.

Along with the food tracking, it gives me an idea of what works and what doesn't work.

Sugar does not work.
