10 years ago I had bone cancer that put me in a wheelchair a majority of the time. Walking any distance is out of the question though I can hobble a few steps. I exercise by walking and rolling. This technique combines rolling in my wheelchair while moving my legs in a walking motion. I do a mile at least every other day.

Wheelchair restricted
My balance is fair, and some days are better than others of course. I have been in my wheelchair for 10 years now and have come to terms with that. However, I stand and turn as much as I can during the day and my upper body strength is really good. Started having backaches about 6 months ago and the drs say I have 2 bulging discs in my lower back.

Wheelchair restricted
I am in a wheelchair about 85% of the time when I'm awake. I can stand on one leg and balance. Walking is difficult at best but I keep trying to find things to keep me active and moving. My husband and I recently started Walk & Roll to help stay motivated. He walks a mile on the walking trail and I roll while moving my legs in a walking fashion. My question is...am I the only wheelchair bound person worried about being overweight? There are very few exercises and no support for us. Does anyone have suggestions to help me stay motivated and losing?
