Ok, so yesterday was rough. I weigh in on Tuesdays and had been doing great all week, plus I just FELT so much lighter - thought for sure the scale would be down at least a full pound. But NOOO...the scale went up so I was super bummed from that point on. Think hormones have something to do with it, but really felt depressed all morning and just deflated.

I did get a tiny workout in. I did 1/2 my Shakeology video before taking the kids to school, then decided to take a quick walk at the bluffs to clear my head before coming back home. Guess I needed the release because the flood gates opened and I just found myself in tears as I walked. Feeling a bit better today, but think I am just overwhelmed with so many things that trying to do it all catches up with me in those little moments of disappointment. I did take the walking time to pray on everything I could get in, and Lord knows, there never is enough time to pray on it all!

So today I am back below the weight I was last week, even though just slightly. I only record the weight when it goes down (that's my little Fat Secret to making my journey feel better). However, I feel like I've really hit that 21 day habit thing because I absolutely love how we are eating and I can't see going back to eating all the junk. My body is responding to the clean foods and elimination of most dairy/meat very well. It is weird, but years ago I tried the blood type diet, and of course I have to be A + blood type, which is the vegetarian one. I wanted the meat and potatoes blood type! LOL! But, my point is that if that is fact or fiction, it still points to a diet for me that is plant based, void of processed foods, low in sugar, etc... So I think what I am doing is finally the "right" thing to do for me - and I've had bits and pieces of this knowledge from all the years of dieting I've tried and failed at. If I just approach it for the sense of my HEALTH, the byproduct and the bonus is the weight loss. So simple that it is almost absurd that I wasted so many years trying everything else.

Of course, I do still have my lap band, which isn't super tight right now, but does remind me from time to time when I eat too fast or something that is too heavy...like I struggled with a fish taco last night because the 1 corn tortilla I had seemed to have a hard time getting through. But my new eating is even making me question if I will need this band in forever - like once I have completely converted my body for long enough if I would consider having the band removed just for the sake of removing the foreign object from my body. lol! One step at a time though.

So Saturday I am supposed to begin my actual workout program. I'm just gearing up by using this first video they sent me with my Shakeology. The actual program I will be doing is the 21 day fix, so I'm excited to see how it goes. The program comes with color coded container for portioning out your food by type, so I think it is a great idea with anyone who struggles with portion size. I thought my hubby could benefit most from it, but we will see. He struggles more with the concepts of weight loss (calorie deficit, reducing carbs, increasing protein, etc...) no matter how many times I try to teach him. I think I am going to just have to take on the role of personal nutritionist and chef and prep all his meals - as if I have time! Ugh!

Ok, so very lengthy journal today, but finally had 2 minutes of quiet to do it. Time to face the day again - happy Hump Day!

Woo Hoo! Totally thought I would gain this week because I had a little more in the carb area like brown rice, quinoa, fruit in my juicer, etc. But since it was all healthy stuff, guess my body thought it was okay! Yay me!

We tried a new vegan place for dinner on Valentine's day and completely fell in love with it. I had spring rolls and a kale/quinoa salad, while the hubby had avocado nuggets and pho. We had a vegan tiramasu for dessert that was amazing! I think there were still carbs and sugars in these things, but they did list ingredients and claimed everything was organic, non-GMO, and animal friendly. I think we made a good choice and it was all so fresh and flavorful that we were surprised. We even went back the next day for lunch! lol!

So I finally signed up for Shakeology through my friend who lost 20 pounds 3 years ago on it and has been doing it ever since. I think I will benefit most from the workouts and the community aspect of it, with the bonus being the nutrient-dense shake to add to my day. I haven't started any supplements yet since I need to budget for all that, but at least this will give me so many of those nutrients to add to my morning juice or smoothie.

Anyway, onward to face this day! :)

Love to see progress! I made my self wait another week to weigh, and it paid off...I am down 6.6 since my new re-start. Yay me! I even made it through Super Bowl, choosing to load up my plate with veggies and have one spoonful of any of the other stuff.

I've been wondering how I would count the juices I make in my food diary - anybody know?

I haven't really been tracking anyway since I don't get to use my phone during the day at work. Trying to remember to log it all at night doesn't work well when I never really have time to log on. Oh, well. As long as I am keeping up with the healthy eating, that is what matters.

I'm also confused on another aspect of the foods - if I try to go non-dairy, the foods seem to be full of things I can't pronounce or don't recognize, so are they chemicals too? One new rule is to not buy it if the ingredients are things I don't recognize or can't pronounce. I saw carageenan in everything and looked that up - not good! So where does vegan cheese alternative have a benefit? Am I better off to have real cheese (if any)? I want to simplify this as much as possible, but some of the vegan vs vegetarian vs clean eating seem to contradict each other, no?

Well, off to bed! Good night all!
