Well, last week was my birthday and I'd taken the whole week off work to celebrate, this was never going to end well diet-wise. Quite frankly after the sheer amount of celebratory pizza I'm pretty chuffed I've only gone up 2 pounds.
Unfortunately, 12 week challenge aside, I'd also taken the week off exercise but I'm back at it with determination this week. I just don't think it's ever worth ruining special things like a birthday for the sake of looking imperceptibly slimmer.
We'll see if I regret it by July 16th, when I go camping and hope to fit a bit better into summer clothes.
Went for a brisk walk today as well as the usual exercise at home, to help cancel some of last week out. That's totally how it works.

So this week I have been attempting the 12 week challenge. It's been more difficult than it should be because I've also been ill, but I've done my best.
Unfortunately the schedule calls for 30 minutes of exercise each day. 30 minutes?! My best so far is 11 minutes without collapsing in a heap of jelly, and two days after that epic session my arms are still painful. Yesterday I had to stick to jogging around the flat wile tidying up instead (it totally counts as jogging even if you're indoors). Maybe I'll concentrate on the water-drinking instead...
Anyway 10 minutes of light exercise per day is 10 minutes more than I was getting previously, and I'm sure my stamina will go up, so it's all good. My body, in absolute shock at having to do anything energetic, has immediately shed 5lbs and while I know that's an unrealistic weekly loss, it does make me feel more confident.
