Started the seven minute workout today and was thinking, "it's seven minutes, how hard can it be?" Harder than I thought! Am looking for ways to add exercise and movement to my routine just so I'm not sitting all day. Have started refilling my water bottle at the water fountain that is farthest from my office and using the bathroom on a different floor too just so I get up and walk for a few minutes at regular intervals. Not really burning a lot of calories this way but feel better being less sedentary.

Walking is usually something that I do because I know I should and not because I enjoy it. I find it kind of dull outside and really can't handle the dreadmill for more than 30 minutes. But, in the fall, I LOVE to walk outside. There's a huge old cemetery across the street from work. I spent my lunch hour walking and the time flew by! I saw deer, turkeys, geese, ducks, many huge carp, tons of great fall color, and even picked up some chestnuts and interesting pine cones.

Been on the road for work for three weeks and then a week of family wedding travel. Not in my own routine. Not eating on my schedule. Way too many restaurant meals. Way too much social eating. Way too many meals grabbed on the go. Far too little time for exercise. Am now up several pounds. I felt so much better a month ago when I was walking and swimming regularly and paying attention to what I was eating. Find myself looking forward to getting back on track because I want to feel better than this.

Had to leave work early because of a car sharing issue (spouse had to sit with a friend who's Dad is in ICU) so found myself home at 3pm on a beautiful day - 75, a little cloudy, and light winds. I rode my bike instead of working from home. It was awesome. I planned to ride an hour and ended up riding for 90 minutes. It felt like there was a motor on the bike (there isn't). I'm pretty sure I smiled the whole way and even laughed out loud a few times.
