Like many I started my journey 4 years ago with a goal of losing weight. I'm only 4 lbs lighter now then at my all time heavy. But my body shape is at all times best! I thought I needed to slim down, but I ended up just getting in a good shape with almost the same weight! My friends tell me I lost a lot of pounds, that I look great, but I know I did not lose just pounds, I lost FAT and I grew MUSCLES! At one point in my life I was down to 120 lbs due to stress, but I was just skinny. Now I'm fit! I love what I see in the mirror, there is still room for improvement but I love my body very much! Please people, don't just starve yourself! Don't eat less then your body needs to operate properly, as I see many of you do! It's not going to bring you long lasting results( unfortunately, but true! For example I'm 5'4 31 y o female and my body needs 1380 calories just to function normally. I will never, under any circumstances eat less! Even if I eat this much I will still be losing weight. Because this number does not account for activities during the day! So I'm eating around 1800 calories and I'm still losing fat! Yes, you don't have to eat 1200, you can eat more! And in fact you have to! Don't stress your body by fasting and dieting it just gives your body signal to regain as much as possible when you start eating enough again! And everything will be stored again in form of fat! And you will lose more muscles during fasting and dieting (yes! You'll lose muscles first before any fat, because they are most costly to maintain!) So you'll end up in worse shape after dieting then you began with! This is a great app where you can monitor your eating habits and maintain proper nutrition. I try to eat protein/fat/carbs at around 25/35/40 ratio. Make sure you eat less junk and packaged foods, in fact try to eliminate it entirely from your diet eventually. I'm far from that myself. But I'm getting there. I try to eat only 72% dark chocolate on weekdays, but on special days I can have a big slice of cake! I just take it into account and adjust my food for the rest of the day accordingly. It's getting too long) I just wanted to say you don't have to starve and suffer when losing weight, I'm sure it gives you enough discomfort already. Do some research, find your balance!!!
