06 May 2015

Here is another day given to us to tackle the tasks we have set out to tackle. Let the energy of this day recharge your soul & give you a better outlook on the journey ahead. While the trip may be tough & at times may seem like the effort is not paying off; rest assured, that if you are putting in the work, the fruit of your efforts will one day be appreciated by none other other than yourself.

So keep pushing your limits on this climb. Seek to go beyond what you think you can do & break new barriers. Forge ahead & allow your feet to walk upon new ground. Set your mind to invincible & know there is nothing that you cannot accomplish if you are willing to do the work, put in the effort, & eliminate all excuses.

This is a hard climb. The task at hand may seem overwhelming. The little victories may come few & far between. But you can do it. If you truly want it, you can do it. If you have made the effort to start, you can do it. You keep building the better you & you do not quit & it will be done.

Keep your eyes trained on the peak. You don't look back. You do not quit. This is what you do, to be the you; you want to be. You do this until it is done.

Remember gang, we are a band of climbers of mountains. Climbers are not conquered by mountains, they conquer mountains. Climbers do not break when they fall upon the rocks, they find the break in the rock to propel them forward. Climbers do not fret when when the cliffs are steep & challenging to their skills, they know those cliffs are preparing them for greater challenges ahead by honing those skills. Climbers do not congregate at base camp to celebrate, they open the champagne on the peak.

So pack your gear securely. Take care to make room for that old wooden box that holds your fragile, long stem glass wrapped in soft velvet lining. And bring that glass to the top of this mountain for us to share in the taste of victory. We are going to the peak & you are a part of we. Accept that fact & lock it into your mentality. You are going to the peak.

Good morning gang! May the sun breathe new vigor into you & your efforts this beautiful morning as we strap on the gear to ascend the mountain today.

Guess what day is here to get us back on track & in the groove this morning? That's right, it's TENACIOUS TUESDAY!!! So let's all be mindful of where we are on our journey & be honest in our evaluation of our performance. If we are off course, let's get to screaming at the person in the mirror & get them back on task. If we are on course, let's reach out to those in need & help them get back into climbing mode. Persistence is the phrase that pays gang. We must continue to seek that peak, day after day, week after week, month after month. Remember, this is how we choose to live.

This journey is fraught with temptations & weariness; so there is no shame in needing help. The one thing you cannot allow yourself to do is quit. Quitting is not an option. If you're going through Hell, just keep going. It will get better.

Set those small milestone goals to keep your momentum charged. Create a reward system for yourself & it does not necessarily have to be a food reward. Let this dream be big enough to scare you; then take that fear & turn it into motivation. Stay positive. Be the exception to our situation. Be the person people see & say "WOW" then come to you & ask "HOW." Let us all be the beacon in the sea of darkness; whether for ourselves or others.

So be TENACIOUS this Tuesday gang! Go out & set the world around you on fire with your FIERCENESS! Attack your climb with a blistering pace today gang! Be the HAMMER!!!

Happy climbing!

Works scales still in question (I'm doing the math based off the expected margin of error in them); weigh in will be verified at doctor's office this afternoon for my normal Monday weigh in check. Home scale had me down a little more, but I use this as my official weigh in; in case anyone at work wanted to join in.

Now for this week's message.

Let us go out & be aggressive as this new week on the mountain dawns on us gang. Make sure we remain vigilant & resolute to see our transformation through to the peak seeking goals we set for ourselves when we took those first steps up in elevation from the valley floor. Stay focused on the long journey & know that it can only be accomplished by navigating the ebb & flow of the climb.

With that being said, we choose to scale this mountain because we were seeking change. With change, real change, there comes the responsibility to correct one's habits & practices that created the situation that required changing in the first place.

We all recognized, we needed, something that must change in order for us to be the people we wanted to be. We all know this journey would be hard & fraught with temptations. We all have looked at that example body & asked ourselves why can't I look like that? I would say the majority of us have tried to climb this mountain more than one time; only to slide back to the valley & come out heavier on the other end. I know I have. This will not be that time.

I am here to say, if you will accept the changes you must make; forgo labeling this journey a temporary diet that will one day allow you to consume in the same manner you did in the past & is actually a re-teaching event of how to live; & know that if you refuse to quit you can have that "example" body; this will be your exodus event & final ascent up this mountain. The peak will be freedom; not the starting line to a vicious cycle of re-gain & repeat.

Throw down the gauntlet on our old habits. Identify the conduct & behaviors that put you in this situation & vow to abandon them. If you always do what you've always done; you will always be, what you've always been. That era is over. We are seekers of our "new" self. Like BB said last week, our best body lies ahead of us. I want the New Jon mentality to have a New Jon exterior & I want the same for everybody who wants to climb this mountain with me.

Gang take this week to look deep into that reflection in the mirror. Talk to it. Scream at it. Tell it the old habits are gone; you are replacing them. Tell it, this is a new world, that will be lived by a new you. I want this so much for myself, but I also want it so much more for all of us. I know what it means to each of you, because I know what it means to me. Making my goal will be a joyful event, but being past of a legion of peak seekers hitting their goal; I can't imagine what that will feel like. I can just see us, in my mind's eye, welcoming each other to the peak as our goals are achieved.

So let this band of climbers of mountains set this Fat Secret community on fire with enthusiasm. Let us inspire everyone who dreams this same dream. Let us light the lanterns across this mountain showing the path to the peak. Let us be new. Let us be changed. Let this dream no longer be a dream. This is our new reality. This is a new world, waiting on the new you.

Now let's go out there & make that new you happen.

Well, it's just not been my week. My wreck, the aftermath of car rental hell, & then Manny lost the fight last night. Oh well, glad it's Sunday & the sun has risen on a new week. I will be using the day to prepare for my conversation with the Idiot Box in the morning. With my big week last week, I'm just looking for a minimal loss.

The message today is to keep moving forward. No matter the obstacle, no matter the challenge; backing down is not optional. Even when you're behind on the scorecard, keep throwing punches. Our fight can be won several ways; but can only be lost one way, by quitting. You find what works for you. You stick with it no matter what. You do not quit no matter what. You will win. Tenacity, will lead you to victory. Fierceness, will keep you climbing. Focusing on that peak, will get you to that peak. Onward & upward gang. You win this fight on the inside; & the outside will take care of itself.

Up late for Relay for Life, so I just got up. My knees are killing me. If they were not throbbing, I would probably still be asleep. My day will be ripe with challenges because I plan to go to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight tonight.

With that being said, today is about avoiding or conquering bad situations on the mountain. Although I'm willingly walking into one, I will control it, It will not control me. So take control of your challenges today. Be the hammer, not the nail. Grab what ever challenges you by the throat, drag it, & incorporate it into your plan of action. We do not bend to the action plans of our challenges any more. We create the events of our day. We walk into every gunfight with a loaded 44 in the holster for all to see; & a hidden GLOCK tucked away, just in case. We police ourselves. We are Clint Eastwood; we are Dirty Harry, not Barney Fife. So let's go out ready to face the good, the bad, & the ugly; with the confidence to know we are coming home looking like a "Million Dollar Baby." Keep climbing gang!!!
