Today is the first day of the "DIET" so to speak. I'm not trying to call it a diet, just a life style change for the long haul. Baby is 6 weeks on Wednesday and since I am no longer breastfeeding I can't use that as a slim down quick or an exuse for the extra calories anymore :(
Starting with the healthy eating and portion control this week with some light walking. Thank goodness the weather is summer-like already in Nebraska. Next week I plan to do more intense cardio slowly. I haven't used my Zumba kinect in almost a year. I think it's time break it out. I decided not to do the WW diet that I was considering doing. I think that would make me think of that DIET word again too much, and I'm afraid I would feel restricted to revolving my life around counting points and measuring out food. I've had much success before with going on my own with being aware of portion control and healthier choices. However, I wasn't at home day in and day out caring for an infant and sometimes rushing to eat while the baby hopefully stays sleeping. I go back to work in 4 weeks and I'm hoping for a mini goal of 10 lbs. Then I'll be within 15 lbs of my pre-pregnancy birth weight. It works out perfect to start the change at the beginning of the month. I can't wait to start seeing progress, hopefully. At least get out of my materninty pants!!!

Well it has been a while. I had started my weight journey last year and shortly after found out I was expecting. It is now a month after I have delivered a beautiful baby girl. I have already lost 30+ pounds thanks to a 9 lb 5 oz. baby and breast feeding for a month. Unfortunately I am done breatfeeding not by choice and have to start getting into a routine again. I have the next 5-6 weeks off at home to get started with no excuses. New weight goal is 145 lbs by the end of July.
I haven't quite figured out if I am going to use the WW diet yet. I am contemplating if I want to journal and count points or just follow a healthy portion controlled diet.
