Way to many carbs yesterday. It really felt like I didn't eat that much food yesterday, but at the end of the day, I was way short on protein. I'm on a mission to do better today.
I got up at 6:00 today. I have the day off, so went for a 1/2 hr. walk before breakfast. I'm getting ready for a yard sale today, plus I have a lunch appt. with a friend from work. I'm somewhat concerned about what to order for lunch, since I'm still not really good at figuring the nutritional values of food yet. It's not a chain food restaurant, so I can't pull up menu items before I go, but I'll try hard to stay true to my eating plan.

Today is the Hispanic History celebration at the office to include the home made ice cream contest. I'm participating in the contest. I'm worried that I won't find good food choices and I'm nervous about eating any icecream - but we all know how good it is. This may be a tough day. I'm going to make a valiant effort to make good choices....so we'll see.

I'm still finding my way on trying to balance the 50-25-25 ratio. I'm on track with the exercises JoHan laid out for me. I didn't bring my lunch today, so am wondering how to get the balanced meal I need, to stay on target.
Justin didn't get home until after 9 p.m. last night, so I waited to eat dinner with him. We both agreed that this is not going to work for me. I actually wasn't hungry until about 8:30 p.m. but know that I need to eat every few hours, so will eat dinner by 7:00 p.m. from now on.
I bought some teriyaki beef jerky yesterday. According to the food charts it's a good source of protein without many calories. I'll try that for a snack for the time being until I can figure out more choices that stay within the plan that JoHan has put in place for me.

The day got started off almost right! I ate what I believe to be the right stuff for breakfast. I just finished lunch and since I'm at work - no wieghing took place, but I tried to make good choices. I'm sure JoHan will tell me if I didn't. See Diet Calendar for a report on what I've eaten so far today. I ate the contents of the tacos, but threw the crispy shells away. I don't know how to deduct calories, so just thought I would note my choice in my journal.
I have calculated all that I have eaten, and noticed that the calories are not all that I should have, and that my 50-25-25 ratio did not work out today. I guess I've got to study food content more tomorrow.

It's Sunday night, and I have just read JoHan's message. I've established a FatSecret account. This will no doubt be a long journey. I'm just taking the first step - keeping my promises to JoHan and myself. I've got a long way to go to be the healthy, active person I intend to be.
