Time to get serious!
Well, my name is Erik, I am 31, and from a small city in New Hampshire. I currently weigh in at 222 lbs and my goal is to reach 200. I joined this site as I believe that it will not only help me track my goals and progress, but will keep me motivated and focused.
Why have I all of a sudden decided to get in shape, you may ask? Well everyone has their own reasons. Mine, first of all, is wanting to be around for my family, future wife, and children. Second, my state has a mandated fitness agility requirement for law enforcement. Next testing is going to be held in the fall of this year. My goal is to be able to complete the testing so I can be hired on as a patrol officer.
Running seems to be my downfall. Even in middle school, I would struggle running the mile. I have never really been much of a runner, but now I have to be as it is a requirement for the testing. I have been doing one of the many "Couch Potato to 5K" programs that I had found online. The program seems to be working pretty good, and I find my endurance is improving(along with my waistline).
If anyone else has tried one of these programs, I would love to hear your feedback.
Well I got to go for now. My next post will be about my diet and exercise regimen.
