Hello Again,

Well it has been 2 weeks since Ive been true to my elimination diet. The true start date was July 5th not July 3rd because the first 2 days of my elimination diet I ended up eating somethings not on the diet - white rice, some rice cereal in milk, potato chips, and coffee with cream.
But by Friday July 5th I was on track.

Only meat, fats, low carb vegetables, avocado's for the 1st week. The second week I added some almonds and macadamia nuts, because I often travel and it is a food desert where I work. I allowed myself an occasional coffee (black) to combat the tiredness that occurs during the first week or so of keto.

As is typical with low carb diets - my 1st week I felt weak, kinda sick, craved sugar, craved salty carbs (potato chips) and had green poop. Then things started turning around. Found my appetite went way down, happy eating green vegetables protein and fats. But than the middle of the second week I ate a cucumber with skin that I forgot to wash, and within 4 hours started feeling sick. I think the cucumber had ecoli - cause I had cramps, and diarrhea interspersed with days of no poop, and extreme fatigue, the look of green veggies made me nauseaus. Now the end of week two, I am finally starting to get semi - solids again but the color is pale - typically a sign that things are passing through the digestive track too fast.

Today, Saturday, things are much better. Last night I took my blood pressure, weight, and analyzed my body percentages.
My blood pressure was normal for me 108/68. Heart rate was too high 90bpm. The big surprise came at the weight and the body fat percentage.
I weighed (with clothes on 181!!) I was a bit dehydrated but my body fat percentage was down to 30.33%!!!! This is great news!!.

My pants are loose, and I am on the innermost notch of my work belt (from notch 2 at my heaviest).

I have lost my craving for anything carby - I watched my husband eat chips and salsa and was thinking how it looked sooo unappetizing and smelled like hotsauce on cardboard.

I walk down the chip and candy aisle and feel nothing.

I know I need to start eating more - hence adding the nuts to my diet. But even than - I poured myself 1/4 cup of macadamian nuts this morning and it took me all day to eat them - heck I still have 4 nuts to go. I am just not hungry. Since Im worried a bit about nutrients, I bought a bunch of vitamins - B-complete, E, C, D, calcium, potassium, magnesium, coenzyme Q, and one other I cant think of just now. It maybe a waste of money (pissing money down the toilet so to speak) But since I don't seem to have an appetite, so am definitely not eating enough to get nutrients, better safe than sorry. Maybe by next month when i start adding stuff back like the Solano vegetables (eggplant, tomatoes) and eventually add back slowly milk products - cheese, cream, olives, my appetite will improve.

Started exercising today. Taking it slow. Just an hour yoga - Iyengar which is a but kicker, and a short walk (45 min slow with some breaks). But I did get my bike back from the shop - may try and ride to work on monday - 6 miles each way - mostly flat.).

Hello Everyone,

Signed up today. Will be starting tomorrow.

Although weight loss would be great, my goals are more to improve my health, and energy levels, reduce inflammation, improve my gut health, try and step back what feels like the beginning of arthritis in my knees and toes.

First goal is to figure out what foods are causing me problems. I've already determined that if i eat too much wheat I get bad stomach cramps and my feelings of arthritis in my joints is much worse (inflammation?) but what else causes issues? What is causing my fatigue, sleeplessness, brain fog?

So elimination diet, it is for 30 days.
Meat, chicken, fish, eggs, greens, lemons, avocados, seaweed, salt turmeric, pepper, garlic (cooked), coconut oil, olive oil, animal fats, cider vinegar.
Greens include: broccoli, spinach, bok choy, collards, kale, dandelion, chard, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, cabbage, green beans, summer squash.

No grains, No night-shades, no root vegetables, no fruit other than the lemon & avocado, no milk products, no nuts, no caffeine (this maybe tough), no alcohol (easy i dont drink or smoke), and of course no processed foods or sugar.

July 4th to August 4th. Wish me luck.
