This week I should be discouraged to have 'gained' weight, but I'm actually still really motivated and still working diligently at being healthier. It helps to have the peace of mind of knowing that my eating is honestly healthier (and not just a temporary low-cal/fad diet designed to quickly loose weight). Last night I went to a recipe exchange enrichment activity. There were over 20 amazing food dishes to sample. When asked why I wasn't eating, I explained that it was after 8 p.m., and I'm trying not to eat too late at night. I didn't even feel tempted or like I missing out. I went purely for the opportunity to meet and talk with the other women, and that fed me emotionally.

I have written down my goals, but I've come up with a new one to add ... I must find a way to decrease the stress I'm under.
A week ago my husband had to go out of town for one-month training rotation in Corpus Christi. Over the next 18 weeks, Dan will be out of town for 10.5 weeks:
- 3 more weeks in Corpus Christi.
- 1.5 weeks in San Diego for a conference.
- 2 weeks in Panama for a medical humanitarian mission.
- 4 weeks in Houston for another training rotation.
As far as meal planning goes, it's nice to not have to worry about making Dan's dinner; but being a "single" mom is stressful. And, like most people, it is very difficult for my body to release fat when I am stressed.
This week is proof – I exercised 6 days this past week, carefully ate 1300-1500 calories from only whole, natural, raw foods. I kept my glycemic load low by mixing all my fresh fruits/vegetables with healthy omega-3 fats (nuts/seeds) and/or lean proteins. In the morning I jump started my metabolism first thing by eating a lean protein breakfast. I’ve also avoided all processed/refined flours, grains, and sugars, etc. (except for some restaurants “low-cal” salad dressings)…
Most of the stress I’m under is in my mind – the problem is I’ve been doing a lot of negative thinking. I’m going to try listening to meditation/self-hypnosis audio tracks just before going to sleep. In the past this has helped me reprogram my thought patterns and helped me relax.
