Laid off my full-time job until late September. Been working part-time hours with an event company...doing some bartending and whatnot. Long hours on my feet, not a lot of breaks, not a steady or predictable schedule.
I know it's not a good excuse. In fact, I shouldn't even have excuses to why I'm not losing more.
I've not been good with food recently. I've been eating at weird times, with no regard for any kind of schedule. I know that's what really works for me - eating meals at set times.
I've got to stop dragging my feet! Especially since my goal was to get under 170lbs (and into the mid 160s!) by the end of the summer!

You would think, with all the heat and humidity here in Toronto, the pounds would just be melting off me. Nope...that doesn't seem to be the case at all.
I haven't really felt like eating much in this heat, but the big problem is; I haven't really felt like exercising either. When it hurts to breathe and every time I move, something sweats and I'm covered in slime, that doesn't really motivate me.
But the heat broke a little this morning. I rode my bike home in the glorious rain last night and it was amazing! So, hopefully I can get back into exercising this week. Like, weight training and aerobics exercising, not just riding my bike to work and walking around downtown exercising.
(The worst thing about this heat - I really feel blubbery...it's as if every last bit of me is made of goo and nothing else! It's an awful, awful feeling. You would think it would motivate me to lose more, but that doesn't seem to be the case, does it?)

I'm having a really good week. I'm really looking at what I'm eating (I haven't been recording in the Food Diary here, but I have been keeping a journal at home) and it's helping a lot. Pasta and rice are a huge stumbling block of mine, so I'm trying to limit my quantities. It's hard, especially since sushi is one of my favourite foods!
But there are so many wonderful, delicious fruits and veggies available right now! It's so easy to eat things that are good and good for me. I'm loving sweet Ontario cherries and strawberries. And in just a few weeks, there will be fresh local peaches and cream corn!
I've also tried to get back to working out everyday. At least 30 minutes of heart pounding, getter-done, exercise. I used to think that riding my bike to and from work was enough, but it really isn't. Especially if I'm not eating right.
So I feel like I'm back on track. Doing things that feel good and help me look good. I just need to keep the momentum going so I can get back to where I was last summer - and that was in the mid 160s...

The heat and humidity are killing me! Everything feels sore and achy and sticky. I hate getting out of a shower and still not feeling clean...
Also, I haven't been very good about keeping track of what I've been eating. The days start off alright, but somewhere mid-afternoon it all starts falling apart.
I really need to get my act together.

100 days = 10 pound gain...not so great.
I feel a little shame over this. I've got no one to blame but myself. However, this goes to show that bad habits are easier to fall back into than I thought.
It's time to kick those bad habits of late night snacking, minimal exercise and junk food and get back to the good ones.
The good habits make me feel good, so I'll ease back into them and hope for the best.
The battle may be lost, but this war is just getting going!!!
