Intermittent fasting is done by some on here. I cut calories to lose weight. That worked for me.

I intermittent fast and only eat 12:30pm to 6:30pm. There are many different variations : 23 hour fast/1 hour eating, 16/8, or what I do 18/6. I think it really depends on you finding your sweet spot :) I will say that with Intermittent fasting I feel more energized and less likely to overeat. I tried to do 23/1, but that wasn’t for me! I ended up not being able to eat enough in one hour.

It's good to try but to try it slowly. Don't eat after supper first. It can take some time to pick up the habit. I eat vegetables or fruits at first if I really need food until I cut everything out after supper. Once you really don't need food at night you can push back any food in the morning.

On the flip side, I used to fast until noon every day and not only was starving all the time my weight loss stalled out and I discovered I had almost wrecked my metabolism with fasting. Not eating after 8 pm is always good, no matter what you diet you follow and I do that myself. The best way for me to lose weight is to cut out all junk food (no chips, pizza, soda, sugar, etc) and make sure to have protein at breakfast. It sets me up for the whole day. Breakfast for me is usually non-fat plain Greek yogurt mixed with berries followed by some raw vegetables like carrots and celery or two eggs and raw vegetables on the side. It has been working pretty well. Eating protein and raw vegetables at the same meal keeps me full and satisfied for hours. I hope whatever you decided works well for you!

Eating a ketogenic diet, I do not feel hungry from about 7pm - 11 naturally so I follow that schedule. I usually have two meals that consist of at least 75-80% fat and under 20g carbs. It works well for me for energy and to maintain my weight. It also is being researched for Alzheimer's prevention and some cancers, both of which run in my family.
