6 more pounds's Journal, 24 January 2018

At the beginning of 2017, my job changed at work, and that's when I started my journey of gaining 10 lbs. in 1 year. That's not a good sign that I'm living healthily. Looking back, I realize I ate more food and drank more alcohol because I was bored and anxious at work.

Now at the beginning of 2018, my job has changed again, and so far I'm still bored and anxious. Before I gain another 10 lbs., I guess I'd better start paying closer attention to what I'm eating and drinking.

I'm also trying to address the boredom and anxiety. I can't change my job, but I can walk around more at work without appearing to not do my job. I have started watching less TV and reading more books in the evenings at home. I bought a diffuser and am breathing in lavender oils to try to calm myself. Oh, and I stopped bringing a thermos of coffee to work--I just have a cup of coffee at home in the morning, and no more 2-3 cups at work at my desk to get me through the day.

Most of all, I have to stop eating and drinking whatever I want.
141.6 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 16.6 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

❤️ best wishes and good luck. I have a desk job and can relate :) I too am trying my to find ways to stay active - from walking to the furthest bathroom up the stairs, packing a small lunch, and walking on breaks etc. Keep pushing - every small “step” makes a difference!
