Truly frustrated. Still no real reason for symptoms. The diuretic did its thing. Now that it has worn off, we're back to "normal." All the blood tests came back normal. Low testosterone and D3, but nothing to explain what's happening. He suspects I'm not digesting properly because of the proton pump inhibitor (I'm on Dexilant, but you may know them as Nexium, Prevacid, Prilosec, etc.) Since I have been on a PPI for years, we're going to focus on weaning and diet/nutrition. Plus I have no gallbladder, so I don't process fat as well as I once did. Had an x-ray of my lower spine to see if there was any impingement which might be causing the numbness in my thigh. Nothing there. Just the mild degeneration we already knew about. (BTW, how is it my "mild" degeneration can be so damn painful, but childbirth was a piece of cake?) Trying really hard not to drop into depression mode because I know it will only make things worse. Bottom line diagnosis: fat. Losing weight should fix all of this. So much easier said than done. Hoping the support of his nutritionist will help.
