It's amazing that I haven't craved coffee for the past two weeks on this Omni diet. I used to have at least 4 cups every morning. I CAN have coffee but only a small cup, which is not even worth making. The first two days, I did have headaches from the caffeine withdrawal, but that's all gone now. it just blows my mind how I don't crave anything at all. Hubby has a few chocolate bars and some chips in his "stash" but they don't bother me, like they used to when I dieted before. The chips actually repulse me now, knowing how much damage the bad fat, the additives and preservatives can do to my brain. The chocolate bars... well, I better read the label again (I'm sure that I will find something that repulses me.)

I've always dieted, with the idea of losing weight. Not anymore. I am now dieting with the idea of taking care of my brain. The weight loss is just a bonus, my brain's way of rewarding me for being kind to it. It's actually much easier this way.

As for my husband's dementia, the progress towards health, for him, is very slow. His brain might be too badly damaged to be repaired, but it does seem to me that he's a little less confused (maybe it's my hopeful mind). However, his body isn't burning up as much as it used to, so I think his 20 years of inflammation is subsiding. He still complains of being cold though. His shirts are getting loose, but his weight is not up or down, on the scale.
