Serenitydee's Journal, 06 August 2017

Woohoo finally under the 70 kg. Exactly 33 kilos loss today since I began my life change. Cornetto for breakfast for me , the third out of the pack of 4. The final cornetto when I get to 65 kg which is only 4.7 kg away. Skins still sucking up. No loose skin at this stage. It deflates, puckers, then sucks up. I'm hoping it's the fresh food, and no preserved meats doing this. I'd like to think there is a legitimate reason. Nitrates in processed meats clog up your cleansing organs preventing them from absorbing nutrients out of food and slowing your metabolism as the organs work to get rid of those nitrates, additives etc out of your body. By not having them my body can absorb nutrients better which I believe helps my body and skin to shrink back better. Well that's my theory anyway. I'm sticking to it. All the research I did pointed to that. Either that or I'm different. I don't think so. Anyway off to have my cornetto now. Onwards and downwards you legends. ❤️

Very well done my friend. What are your thoughts on breakfast? Small or reasonable with a tiny lunch. Thanks for your advice to follow.

You sound very committed, well done. I am trying to get under 70kg too! Are you on 1500 Cal per day?

Dawn 1200 calories or thereabouts.

ftroop69 I like a reasonable brekky. I try for 300 cals. I try to keep higher carbs before 3 pm. saying that tomorrow night I'm having a roast with potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, beans, roast chicken and gravy. I use portion control so 100g chicken, half a potato etc. The roast comes in under 400 cals too. if a meal is going over the 400, I might halve the meat, or choose different veges like green leafy veges. less cals and carbs so I can eat more of them. My fav brekkies are a boiled egg with 2 ryvita, and berries (strawberries 100g, raspberries 25g, blueberries 25g) with mood goat greek yogurt (50g) and raw muesli( sprinkled as a topping 25g). Fav lunch is a meat(50g chicken) with salad( 30g cucumber, 4 cherry tomatos, lettuce, and red capsicum), and 1/2 avocado. I make quiches. I put the recipe into fat secret on iPad and work out portion size for cals I want. I'm always aware of fibre etc and use fat secret to work out how to increase fibre, lower carbs or fat and increase protein etc. Hope that makes sense. I dont go hungry. 😊

Oh and also how can I add my own recipes to go into my diary?

Dawn I use the app on my android phone to blog. I can add comments on the iPad but not see any responses on the iPad. I set up my account so its public. Go to settings to change this. you can also just blog with "buddies" too but you both need to be visible to add each other. Then you can change your settings back to just buddies if you like. I've left my account as public.

Dawn I add recipes into the iPad in the cookbook which isn't on the android phone. I can edit ingredients then if I make the recipe differently. I can also change the number of serves each time. I also save meals I eat regularly like roast chicken and Veges. Again I can edit that too each time. It just saves some typing.

I've just started this program and I am very spires by your wonderful results . How long have you been on the program?
08 Aug 17 by member: Sassybon
Sassybon I decided I'd do this last year Sept 20 but had an op in October and wasn't able to cook again for myself until the end of November. I've been focused on my new way of eating since then.

its saying my recommended daily intake is 2200 calories, I've just started using this app and am looking to lose weight, does this seem high to you?
09 Aug 17 by member: jessie520
Jessie I changed my intake to 1200 cals per day. But research indicates under 1800 is needed to lose weight. Up to you. if you set it at say 1600 cals and you're not losing weight then you can adjust it down again anyway. So I'd just set a level and try it for a few weeks. Research also indicates 1200 cals is the minimum necessary to obtain an essential balance of nutrients your body requires.

I also use another app and it estimates cals required to reach my goal weight by a certain date that I set. Fat secret looks at your personal details that you entered and estimates cals required to reach your ideal weight for your height , sex, and build usually with a longer time frame to reach their goal that they set, hence the reason the cals seem a lot higher.
