Need to do better. Will start gym workouts this week, maybe that will kick-start some loss.
309.0 lb Lost so far: 66.0 lb.    Still to go: 9.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Yes, it definitely will! I saw a 2 lb loss within the last 4-5 days and had started working out. It speeds up your metabolism.
