Day 5 of having no proceed sugar. I actually feel really great. Today when I went grocery shopping my mom asked me to buy her some chips and soda from the store and for the first time I didn't buy some for myself. Not even the diet coke. Tomorrow will be a real test because I will be going out with the family to a Chinese restaurant and I'm worried what to do.

I'm going to a health foods store later to look for some sugar free gum. I feel gum helps me with mindless eating but since starting the sugar free diet I threw out all the gum I had.
109.0 lb Lost so far: 9.0 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

try having a free big cups of broth with your meal at the Chinese place. :) big glass of water before you start eating. I bet there's a chicken skewers type option, especially of its a buffet. avoid general tso's, sesame or orange chicken, or any other sauced dish - almost guaranteed they'll have sugar. skip or halve your fried rice, avoid lo mein because, again, sugar. they may have steamed veggies. if you're going to have a little something sweet, like general tso's, plan it ahead of time and have a whole plate of healthy stuff first. If you're craving sweets in the end have some fresh fruit. :)

I would say to really look for changes to appreciate sugar in its natural form, in fruits. You got this. :)

thanks for the advises. I will for sure avoid any sauce on the meats because those have a lot of sugar and salt. I will try to have a meat dish with raw veggies. or maybe seafood. I will definitely drink plenty of water. Tea I can't have, I just don't like the taste. I'm more of a black coffee gal.

thanks for the advices. I'll definitely avoid any sauces on meat. I'll either get seafood or meat with veggies and maybe fruits for dessert. i will drink plenty of water but not tea it's just not my cup of tea :) I'm more of a black coffee gal. I'm trying to appreciate natural fruits more and even veggies. I actually bought a lot of fruits/veggies today which sadly has been a while but I'm trying to change :)

I agree with all the suggestions and add my own. Try eat slowly and, no matter how much you want to try everything, listen to your stomach and stop when you're full. Furthermore, if you do overdo it, don't beat yourself up about it, just get back on the no-sugar regime as soon as possible. Have a great day
