Yesterday was a crazy day. So crazy that it ruined my streak of writing a blog entry everyday!
Early in the morning, I went to take off the blood pressure holter. OMG, I really had enough of it. I was not able to sleep all night with it squeezing my arm to the point where it hurt every 20 minutes during the night! Every time I would wake up startled by it! lol It probably had the highest blood pressure measurements while it was supposed to be the lowest! But anyway, I think overall, my blood pressure was more to the low than to the high side! But I'll get the results tomorrow, so I'll be able to tell it for sure.
After taking the holter off, I went back home and took a well needed shower! And then went to work. During one of my bored times, I went to check on the laboratory website if the results of my blood test were up already, and they were! I scrolled down to those feared numbers... glucose, cholesterol... and they were all NORMAL! I really could not believe it! I started to wonder if they might have changed my results with someone else by mistake, but apparently not! There were some deviations on some liver enzimes, but nothing too big... and nothing that can't be fixed by living healthy like I am now. But I am still stunned about it! I mean, the results I had were better than the last checkup I made a couple of years ago, when I had way less pounds on me. I think this month that I've been doing it all healthy really payed off and I am really glad! It was a really good motivation to keep going and never give up!
Things went as usual up to like 4 PM, when the sky started falling all around us! It was a really hard rain together with really strong winds. Before we knew it, all the streets around my company building were flooded. And I am not talking about 2 inches of water... I am talking REAL FLOOD here. Many cars that tried to cross the flooded streets broke down.
So, I started to worry about my place... even though the windows were closed, when it rains like that, some water is still able to get in. I wanted to go home, but it was impossible to do so... .... so I waited.... After 5:30 PM, the water started to go away, so soon enough, I was able to head home. Many tree pieces and trash were all around the place, some fireman were doing something really in front of the building... so I walked home (I live in the same street I work, so it is a 10 minute walk) and got there to the news that we had no power.... awesome!
Some stair up to my place and I was up to a night of boredom. My DS batteries went out pretty soon, I was not really able to cook ( I had no matches to light a fire!) and I couldn't take a shower, unless I wanted a cold one. And that is why my streak of posting blogs everyday was broken.
I went to bed early and when I woke up today, the power was still out! I had to struggle real hard to get out of bed and face the cold shower so I could come to work. I hope the power comes back soon... my stuff is defrosting in my freezer! ... at least I brought my DS and iPhone to charge here at work! lol
