I'm really wishing they are temporary because my red days bring all that along with cramps.. I do have to admit over drinking wine, and yes.. I got pizza and cheese filled samosas yesterday, but 1kg up just like that?. Is good I noticed earlier so I will try to do some cleaning today .. Al toro por las astas señores!

That weight gain might be normal fluctuations. No one's true weight is constant, it will vary throughout the day by pounds and day by day. Some people track several days of weighing and average them and enter that average. Your increase isn't relevant data unless your weight continues to go up. Do not despair!

Many times were easy to many calories and jump up a pound. More often, we eat foods that cause inflammation that can drive or weight up 5 pounds! Keep track of what you eat when your weight jumps... It could be inflammation. I had to stop all grains because most caused a 5 lb. weight gain! Don't stress. Just learn.

Unless you managed to accumulate another 7000 calories in a couple days then its water weight. You've had more salt, less potassium, less water, or some combination of those. Its just water weight, ignore all this shit about inflammation and toxins and the like, its all pseudoscience being pushed by marketers.

oook..I have to confess to fatsecreters here that I thought the "water weight" story was nonsense.. until today, just did some reading and yeah : it turns out it can explain until 2.5Kg weight fluctuations (and also goes both ways: not to be too happy if during your first week of a regime you lose as much as that miraculously) this is really interesting to me, so @TRP is right that I need more data points, @clwise was right with the 5lbs fluctuations and @Iambunny about the diet change, sodium is one of the main causes...thank you for sharing your knowledge people! , I get to learn something new :)

Im also reading that to earn 1 pound I would have to eat an excess of 3500 calories, which I believe I haven't ..so @Imabunny has a point with the 7000, I don't think I have eaten that much (although yeah I cheated!! .. I confess the hashbrowns, I confess the wine, I confess the 200/piece apple pye ). I'll keep it low today and re-check tomorrow and after to see how this thing works..crossing fingers :]

One of the things I've found that helps keep down water retention is getting lots of potassium. The sodium and the potassium help to offset each other. Its when you end up with high sodium one day, and low potassium that the huge jumps happen. Some days I end up with so much water retention that I can tap my skin on my belly and see it ripple like water. But yeah, lower salt intake, higher potassium and H20 help to bring it down. This article sums it up: https://legionathletics.com/water-retention/

sodium, it makes water weight.

One thing to watch is that many high potassium foods are also high in carbs.

yeah.. patata and banana sound like the perfect example; but as long is within the calorie limits should be fine.. would take it into account +
