Well, a very happy first April weekend to all of you diet masters, and nutritionists,(that means all of us) here on FatSecret. It is another worrisome diet weekend. I can't worry about what the word Ketosis means, my life is dictated by that circular machine in the bathroom, that holds my fate each day. Seriously, I repeat this over, and over. Please try to have a happy relationship with your food. They shouldn't have Freddies popping out or look demonic to you. They are your cuddly friends. Enjoy them as they slither down your throat. My avatar is a pic of Adan Sanchez, who was one of my students in the 6th grade. I remember the first day of school, my students introducing Adan as a famous singer, who they felt I was privileged to teach. He was soft spoken, and as the year went by, I learned more about his background, that his father was also a famous singer, but had been assassinated in Sinaloa down in Mexico. Just as Adan had sold out the Kodak Theatre in L.A., he unfortunately soon after was said to have been killed in a car accident in Sinaloa, before one of his concerts. I wish to memorialize him here. Your comments to my post are welcome. I just thought I would remember him.

Thanks Suzy, I appreciate you! You are so right. I can't even tell you the stories told to me by my former students. Frightening stories. They get used to seeing dead bodies and sometimes are even involved with it. It is not a secret how some students show pictures of mansions on huge properties, and you know where the money came from. They like to show pictures of shooting automatic military style weapons.

Suzy, one of the reasons I donate to gun regulation groups. We get extremely excited about terrorist attacks, but forget that 88 a day are killed by guns every day in America, mostly children. I watched a documentary on the stories of the gun killings in one 30 period, and I got sick. One that stuck with me was a very successful female athlete, that was getting wide acclaim in Arizona. One day her younger brother, who had a half dozen loaded guns in his bedroom, raped his sister, and shot and killed her and himself.

He was almost my student twice. 11 years old and 18, but I got the position, when Adan's teacher died of a heart attack. Interesting, that I found $4000 cash, the teacher was hiding from his wife in his classroom, that was divorcing him, when he died. Adan had just graduated with him. I turned the money into the office.

He lived very close to the school, and one day I went to talk to his mother about his classroom behavior. I was amazed how young, and very gorgeous she was, and there was a house load of kids there. I felt sorry for her, that she had lost her husband in such an awful way, but I think he had drug involvements in Mexico.

Warren, I'm sorry about your student. I know how attached one can get to kiddo's. I teach music to k - 6th and I get attached to them like they are my own kids. I'm sure you made a huge difference in their lives. They were lucky to have you. 😊
