I was speaking to a colleague on Friday that I knew had lost some weight (40+ lb) as I was finding my weight loss had plateaued and I was starting to get back into bad eating habits since the initial positive body feedback wasn't there.

He made a good point about his own weight loss strategy, saying he originally combined weight-loss with muscle-gaining exercise but was recommended to choose one or the other as they conflicted (i.e., your body wants to consume more to build muscle so you can't lose weight by reducing calories.) He gave up exercise for 12 months and focused on just eating right and eating less and lost 40+ pounds. He is now in a workout regiment and has gained back half the weight as muscle so he's happy with his progress.

It's the summer, so it will be hard not to do both now but I will definitely give the idea a go over Winter if the weight starts going up again. I was about to say "food for thought" but that reward system won't work here :D If I do try it out I'll comment on it.
186.6 lb Lost so far: 2.2 lb.    Still to go: 11.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
