Katsolo's Journal, 30 March 2024

Sitting here this morning with an acid peel on my face because I had a whole list of things I was going to do last night and I just didn’t get to it. It’s now past noon, but I’ve been doing other things. It’s actively storming today, there will be no real going outside. Getting ready to row/ski and maybe play with some heavy things.

I’m annoyed by this morning’s number as I use Saturdays as my weekly number, so, of course, it’s up. Thought about using a number from earlier in the week, but that’s accommodating my emotional response rather then pure data which defeats the point of tracking. So we press on doing what we’re doing.

Tiny piece of tuna last night. Still buying it when available, but portioned it out into smaller pieces so I can keep buying it. Bought some cauliflower yesterday and I’m going to try making these cauliflower patties I had a couple weeks ago. Similar to latkes, but also similar to tater tots. Love both, going to try it in the air fryer. Pics if successful and pics if the failure is hard enough to be amusing. I’ve been making some budget swaps on groceries, but still focusing on high quality protein and produce. It’s a balancing act for sure.

Since it’s raining today, daylight hours do not apply andI have free license to watch TV during the day, so currently listening to The Pigeon Tunnel which is a dramatized telling of John le Carré/David Cornwell’s life I stumbled upon. I’m not going to call it an autobiography because it’s not, but it is an interesting story and something i can listen to which is good because I’m still not sitting still. I’m a bit strange in that I’ve always listened to TV/movies, but I don’t do well with audiobooks unless I’m trapped in a car or on an airplane. Go figure.

Summer is in love with the rain. The back door is unlocked and she keeps pushing her way out to go sniffing around the yard no matter how hard the downpour. We’re already close to 3/4” which is quite a lot for here.

Time to hit enter on this tardy post that’s taken far too much of my weekend time even broken up into bits and pieces. Blob up, muscle up, we’ll see where we land tomorrow. I do need to change the batteries on the scale as it’s giving me a warning message. Unbelievable how often I have to change them on this smart scale. I’d rather plug it in with a USB. Hope they’re listening.
