As long as you don't give up that's progress. I've been doing this my whole life. There are up's and downs but it's always worth it to keep going.

I have the same problem Yves. I try telling myself I am allergic to sweets. I do make myself apples baked in microwave with cinnamin and sugar free sweetener when the crave is too bad. Also I find that making shakes with skim milk and frozen rasberries and sugar free sweetener in the blender taste great too. Somewhat like shurbit

I love apples with cinnamon and fruit smoothies. You might substitute a bit of banana or the sugar substitute or try it without the sugar. In many the substitutes stop weight loss.

thank you I will try the banana idea

Dialia, bananas do add calories and carbs (if you are concerned) but they do pack a nutritional punch!

Dialla3201 I like the idea of psyching myself out. I will start to tell myself that sweets make me sick - which they really do since I am "pre-diabetic". I have never had a baked apple in the microwave. Do you just core it and put it in there? Frozen shakes with fruit sound good too. Especially now that it is getting hot. Thanks for the ideas. Much needed because all my mind knows is DOUGHNUTS! when the crave hits.

Wholefoodnut are you saying that sugar substitutes may hinder weight loss? I have my doubts about using them but currently am since my dietician suggested it.

Yves, there have been lots of discussions on this site about that and many links to various studies posted. Some of them have been about the affects of diet soda. I don't know the links but I think Mummydee has posted some of them. I'm not on low carb and have gone to drinking my coffee black and using a bit sugar, honey or palm sugar in my tea as I do not like it without a bit of sweet. I used to buy the big bags of splenda fairly often. I still have some packets of it in my pantry kept for tea but haven't used any in over a year. My neighbor uses it occasionally in tea if she is here.
