Good afternoon FS friends

So it seems that I've finally hit a bit of a stall. Haven't changed much of anything. Well, I suppose I have by adding oatmeal to the routine. Even though it falls in my CICO allowance, it is seeming to have a effect on how efficiently my body is consuming fat. Then again, I have minimally increased my caloric intake too as the fall yard work is physically demanding and if I don't consume enough, I run out of oomph. At the end of the day, a loss is a loss however small. This journey is a marathon, not a sprint and slowdowns are to be expected.

This afternoon I'm off to the local LTC home as there is a resident at end of life and family because of Thanksgiving is not able to be there until later on this evening. I love being part of the palliative care volunteer team, as my belief system is such that nobody should be alone those last hours and minutes of life. To be sent off with compassion and caring surrounding you is every persons right. It is a small way I can make a difference to fellow residents of planet Earth.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadians in this forum!

Oatmeal stalls me. Causes me to have cravings.

MorticiaAddams: having some protein with oatmeal tends to prevent cravings for many people. Eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, lean meats, protein powder/shake…Might work for you too…if you like oatmeal, but not cravings 😉

Chia seeds and flaxmeal are also great additions to oatmeal for a little more staying power

@Ann, your compassionate belief system is so commendable and I feel wholeheartedly that “nobody should be alone those last hours and minutes of life” It’s a wonderful human right to say the least. Experience with such, has taught me to fear less. Your entire post was very nice. Glad to be a part of this community! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving…Yes b’y ☺️ I’ve shared memorable holidays in Canada! (btw…support all the food parts of your journal too🤦🏼‍♀️)
