Katsolo's Journal, 19 February 2023

Yesterday ended up being a pretty great day. I took all three dogs into the canyon, not far, mind you, but Sadie's energy levels were up and she is the one who wanted to go down the hill so I let her take the lead.

I managed to only tweak the back once all day. Ironically, it was getting up from a cobra stretch that felt fantastic. Did I sit all day resting? Nope. Did a mini circuit of 10 minute hard row (done with much caution and only two squeaks), an upper body strength session where I figured out I can only handle 10# weights right now, no more because the instability is what causes me to kink the back muscles again. All good, being very cautious. Then, since I wasn't really tired, did a lower body one which was basically lunges from hell. I skipped the jumps for now. So I'm hopeful. I wanted to try the pool, but that's where I was headed after the stretching so that was a nope. Spent most of the rest of the day cleaning up, vacuuming is hard. It's the twisting motion. Do I get a pass for a couple more weeks? Just joking, not an option with two GSDs unless I want to let my hardwood floors resemble shag carpeting.

Today, more of the same. We went a little further into the canyon. The uphill home is a little too hard for her, so we'll figure something else out, I'm just so grateful she's feeling like herself again. I wish there was a high flat trail close by, but the only one I'm thinking of is not safe. You can see the weight returning to her face and she's less emaciated. Praying it continues.

Skipped the store yesterday because I wasn't feeling it. dumb of me. no eggs this morning. just those stupid egg whites in a box, but they'll do.

Blob down, muscle way up and water up.
