Had a three-week vacation; on-off, basically three five-day weekends where I completely ignored my diet and exercise plan.

During this period, I indulged completely and utterly in whatever I wanted; I went out to eat a lot, ate terrible, fatty, and indulgent meals, drank a lot of alcohol, and only went for a few, brief bike rides (mainly to get around, not high-intensity exercise).

How do I feel about this? Fine. I'm seeking to lose weight, but I have no problems sliding back up the scale in order to indulge in my vacation, etc. I have gained several pounds because of this, and they don't bother me a bit. I am now resuming my diet, and despite the "setback," I'm fairly unconcerned with my lack of progress. The idea is battle down to my goal weight, and then maintain it from there; I have no illusions that my weight will fluctuate depending on how well I follow my diet, and while I realize this may be a pitfall, for right now I set a clear boundary on my vacation time. Exactly three weeks of indulgence, and now I will get back to the weight loss kick.

All things tallied, I'm actually surprised I didn't gain more weight!
217.0 lb Lost so far: 18.0 lb.    Still to go: 47.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

Glad to see you're back. My mom has the same philosophy - while she's home she's dieting and exercising, when she cruises she enjoys everything - life should be fun, and vacations spent worrying about food aren't fully vacations!
